Update Filters

Please read the whole page before continuing.

These MapMate patches update stock queries only in the Filters table. They do not affect user-created filters.

You MUST ABSOLUTELY take a system backup via the replicator, or at the very least make a copy of your "User" file in your My MapMate\Data\User folder before running these patches. If you choose to copy the User file to "User - Copy", it will be easy to revert it back to "User", if required.

Released filter patches

All patches have been tested on a live system and are backward compatible.

Arachnida [Spiders] v1	This update adds the family Cicurinidae to the following stock filters: Arachnida Arachnida: Araneae Araneae: Spider Recording Scheme
Lepidoptera [Butterflies and Moths] v1	This update adds the family Lemoniidae to the following stock filters: Lepidoptera: Micro-moths Lepidoptera: Moths Lepidoptera: Moths (excluding sub-species)
Lepidoptera [Butterflies and Moths] v2	This update corrects and adds Micro sp. (Unidentified micro lepidoptera species) and Unknown lepidoptera (Unknown lepidoptera species) to the following stock filters: Lepidoptera: Micro-moths Lepidoptera: Moths Lepidoptera: Moths (excluding sub-species)
Thysanoptera [Thrips] v1	This update adds the following new filter: Thysanoptera

Note: All patches must be renamed with the same filename. If you download mutiple patches, you can only rename and apply one patch at a time.

To apply MapMate patches:

• Right-click the link above and select Save Link As... to download the update file into the Documents\My MapMate\Data\Cache\Download folder. Some browsers may prompt you to make sure you want to download the file.
• Navigate to the Documents\My MapMate\Cache\Download folder

You will need your 3-character Centre Unique Key (CUK) which can be found by clicking Help, About MapMate...

Depending on how your Windows File Explorer is configured, you may or may not see the .SQZ filename extension.

If you can see the .SQZ extension:

• Rename the patch to 1z1to{your_CUK}.sqz.

If you cannot see the .SQZ extension:

• Rename the patch to 1z1to{your_CUK}.

Then...

• Open MapMate and run the Replicator.
Check that Replicate Downloaded data into your database, Check Replicated records on your system, and Create Upload from any new records in your database are all ticked. If not, check that the patch is named correctly and in the My MapMate\Data\Cache\Download folder.
• Click Synchronise.
• Click OK to continue.
• Cancel the prompt asking to enter a password.
• Click No to Do You Want to create a Return Sync File...
• Click No to sending an acknowledgement to 1z1.
• Click Cancel to ignore the To do List update.
• Click Done.
• Run My Configuration to apply the patch to your chosen taxa.
